There are 17 days to go until the "Funky Pants Deadline" on September 7: The cutoff date for entrants to get a free pair of Funky Pants Sports Shorts. So, even though there are still nine weeks until race day, don't procrastinate and leave things too late, or you will miss out on your free shorts from Funky Pants.

Nine paddlers could be taking part in their 15th Biogen Pete Marlin Surfski Race weekend on October 25-26. These nine Pete Marlin Legends lead the way as the stalwarts who have celebrated the life of Pete Marlin in the best way possible: By enjoying one of South Africa's favourite weekends of downwind surfski action each year.

The paddlers who have completed 14 Biogen Pete Marlin race weekends are: Duncan Boyd, Derek Hendry, Iain Hume, David Puttergill, Hennie Roos, Brendon Thompson, Cassie van Heerden, Andre van Wyk and Angus Warren.

Currently there are 58 paddlers who have completed 10 or more Biogen Pete Marlin race weekends. The list of paddlers who have taken part in 10 or more can be found at: petemarlin.co.za/legends

Long-time supporter, Barry Lewin, keeps returning to the Biogen Pete Marlin each year. In this video he tells us there are three main reason he keeps coming back: The people and the vibe; the beautiful coastline and the race courses; and the slick organisation.
