We're just a few days away from this year's edition of the Biogen Pete Marlin Surfski Race, and we think we are going to have the best we've ever had. The entry list is looking exciting with a strong field that includes a sprinkling of recently crowned world champions.

You are getting this newsletter because you have entered the 2025 Biogen Pete Marlin Surfski Race and it contains some important information. However, the primary method of communication is the WhatsApp group, so we ask everyone to please join that (see link at the end of this newsletter) so you get all the important updates as quickly as possible.

RACE COURSES

The race courses are weather and wind dependent. The plan is to have the SS1 race on Saturday and the SS2 on Sunday, but that will be confirmed and the race courses we will use will be announced before Friday at 10am. In the meantime, click the link below and you can watch the Safety Officers Course Options Briefing and he points out some of the landmarks you can look out for while paddling.

SAFETY

As always, safety is paramount and a non-negotiable for this event. With that in mind, all paddlers must have the South African version of NSRI SafeTRX loaded on a fully-charged cell phone, in a water-proof pouch.

The weekend has been carefully planned to maximise your enjoyment, both on the water and off it (we hope all the first-time participants learn why we claim the Pete Marlin "is more than 2 races ... it's an event").
